Loaner Gear will be available for both Archery and Thrown Weapons.
Achers prepare arms and hone your skills! If ye be so brave! Help the Great White Duck of An Dubhaigeainn defend off the White Tailed Menace of the South Bay. As he attacks her younglings, try your best to protect them, your fellow boats and even yourself. This years archery challenge will be about accuracy and speed. Become part of history as we dive into the story of how An Dubhaigeainn and the Great White Duck became allies. Archers will need at least 6 arrows for some rounds.
To become this year’s thrown weapons champion, you will need to go on a hunt for the great whitefish. First, we will need to make some chum to attach the beast… 6 axes thrown, 1 point for each herring hit. Then we will have to spear the fish and drive him to the surface… 3 spears, one point for each hit on Christalmo. Christalmo has rammed our vessel and we are sinking fast. We have one chance. A container of Greek fire is lodged in his mouth. Hit it with your knife and you can finish the beast…6 knife throws. One point for the shark, two points for hitting the container. Top three scores will compete in the finals where we will increase the difficulty. There will also be a youth thrown weapons tournament.
For this year’s challenge, the Hunt for Christalmo continues, chapter 3. Brewers are challenged to bring 2 brews to the challenge, to bolster the resolve and fortify the courage of those seeking out the great threat to our home. Brews will be judged on a standard rubric, with bonus points for the following: one brew should have bubbles, the other not; one brew to be red, the other not; one brew to have no alcohol, the other any percentage of alcohol; and one brew of a herbal variety (or any fraction), and the other fruity in nature. All brewers will get partial credit for their concoctions if either brew fits any side of the 4 parameters listed. Please write up a recipe describing your wares, to help the judging process. The current champion will be sponsoring a prize from the Barony of the Western Seas to the winner of this contest, good luck to all!
This event is OUTDOORS ONLY. We are not allowed inside the hall. The ranges are on grass, with some areas of the site being hilly and sandy. There will be an accessible portasan for all to use, as well as bathrooms within the sauna.
