Spring Schola will be held at Stony Brook University, on Saturday, April 22, 2023 where we Ducks are being welcomed by the members of the Science Fiction Forum. The event will be held in Room 169 of the Student Activities Center (SAC).
Spring is here and the time has come to learn and grow! Come to the Barony of An Dubhaigeainn for our Spring Schola.
Classes will be held throughout the day with a display table showcasing the skills of our populace for our Baronial Arts and Sciences championship, leading to a performance by those who wish to compete for Baronial Bardic champion.
See below for rules and themes for the competitions and link through to our baronial website for class listings and descriptions.
A&S Competition – Theme and Rules: The current champion, Lady Fiona the Volatile has put forth “Research” as the theme of this year’s A&S competition. Show your scholastic skills by researching a facet of medieval life, or culture. Impress me by finding primary sources. Visit museums or historical sites either in person or virtually. Go down rabbit holes and learn something new. Present your findings to educate the populace about the medieval world.
Bardic Competition – Theme and Rules: The current champion, Lady Aoife inghean Ui Briain, has set the theme and rules for the Bardic competition. Just as learning a new skill is a journey, I want to hear about a journey from one place to another. Whether it be a personal journey or a journey across lands. Tell me where you’ve been and where you’re going! Bring us all in the journey with you.
Classes! The Baronial website will be updated with class listings and schedules as they are confirmed. Contact the Event Steward, Lady Vetra Trys Kaukoles to volunteer to teach a class: schola@andub.eastkingdom.org.
