Come one and all, as we gather our flock to the Ducky Lands of An Dubhaigeainn!
After more than a year’s journey we have finally come out the other side. We have all been THERE, and now is the time to start coming BACK AGAIN. Welcome autumn, crisp weather, and seeing friends and loved ones that we have been physically distant from and join the Barony of An Dubhaigheiann for our annual Arrows, Axes and Ales event and championships to be held on August 28, 2021. October 23, 2021.
While we have been apart, we have not been idle. There are those who spent the time filling our barrels with beverages of choice. There are those who pledged to the Barony, Kingdom, and indeed the Knowne World, that they would have the use of their Axe, their Spear, or their Bow in service and defense of our lands. The time has come to seek out new champions to fulfill these promises once more.
Bring your archery and thrown weapons, and your potent potables (they come in pints!!!) to enter competitions for Baronial champions of Archery, Thrown Weapons, Youth Thrown Weapons, and Brewing. Our current champions (listed below) have devised interesting, challenging, and fun tourneys for your pleasure and challenge.
Current champions:
Archery – Laird Eanraig the Bonesetter – Archery Champion Tournament
Brewing – Lord Akos Zekel
Thrown Weapons – Fearghus Mac Cailin
Youth Thrown Weapons – Griffon of House Three Skulls
Any resident of the Barony is eligible to compete to take up the regalia and represent the Barony to the Knowne World, while all others are welcome to compete for prizes and bragging rights.
Although the SCA complies with all applicable laws to ensure the health and safety of our event participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious diseases during in-person events. By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks. You agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.
This event will be held entirely outdoors, rain or shine, other than use of indoor restrooms. We will have plenty of hand sanitizer throughout the event and we will be cleaning high-touch areas frequently. Please bring your own chairs, if possible.
Per Their Majesties request, we require all attendees to wear a face covering over their mouth and nose to safeguard the most vulnerable among us and for the comfort of attendees.
Due to Society and Kingdom restrictions at this time, the Barony is not able to offer a dayboard for this event. Please plan to bring your own food and drinks. Attendees who accept shared drinking containers or buffet-style food from other attendees do so at their own risk.
Update 8/6/2021: Due to loosening of restrictions from Society and Kingdom, we are now able to offer a light dayboard at the upcoming Arrows, Axes, and Ales event, being held October 23, 2021. There is no change to the event fees for this addition.
Updated 10/4/2021: The East Kingdom requires that all attendees at all in-person gatherings show proof of either full vaccination against COVID-19 or a medically-supervised negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the event. Proof of vaccination or a negative test shall not be required for children under 12. Attendees aged 18 or older will have to show government-issued ID matching test results or vaccination proof to gain entry to the event. Children aged 12-17 will need to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the event. More information is available on the East Kingdom Seneschal’s website: https://seneschal.eastkingdom.org/covid-test-policy-resolution/
While it may be a journey out to Our Fine Feathered Barony we look forward to seeing the faces of those who are ready to take on the AAAdventure!
